Recorded Dec 14, 2016 — Dr. Nathalie MacDermott presents “To Respond or Not to Respond? Assessing Medical Interventions in Disaster and Humanitarian Emergencies.”
Dr. MacDermott is a pediatric doctor undertaking a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases. She is currently researching genetic susceptibility to infection with an outcome from Ebola virus infection, based in Sierra Leone. As a member of the Samaritan’s Purse Medical Disaster Assistance Response Team, Dr. MacDermott has responded to several humanitarian crises since 2011, most notably the Ebola epidemic in Liberia.
