Dr. James Brown
Dr. Brown is a missionary general surgeon at Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Cameroon where he has served with his wife for 12 years.  He is currently the Chief of Surgery and Surgical Program Director for the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS).  Dr. Brown recently deployed with Samaritan’s Purse to New York City in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and spent almost 5 weeks working in the ICU of the Respiratory Care Unit in Central Park. 

Melanie Wubs
Melanie is currently a Technical Health Specialist for the Samaritan’s Purse International Health Unit. She has been involved in a wide array of DART responses and program setups for the past three years, including serving as the Medical Director for the Mosul Emergency Field Hospital, Diphtheria Treatment Center, Freeport Field Hospital, and most recently the New York Respiratory Care Unit. She is passionate about facilitating effective quality teams who deliver compassionate Christ-centered care.

Ben O’Neil
Ben is the Samaritan’s Purse Medical Outbreak Specialist. As a member of the International Health Unit, Ben has served in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Ebola Response, as subject matter expert on outbreak preparedness and response programming, and as the epidemiologist for the COVID-19 Pandemic Response. Ben has worked as a program manager and advisor in the Samaritan’s Purse Liberia and Uganda field offices and county epidemiologist in Redding, California.
