Webinar: Our COVID-19 Response in New York and Italy

April 14, 2020 By Curtis Cosby

Dr. Lance Plyler, Dr. Linda Mobula, and Ben O’Neil, MPH, present “Our COVID-19 Response in New York and Italy.”

Dr. Lance Plyler is the Director of World Medical Mission at Samaritan’s Purse. Ben O’Neil is the Medical Outbreak Specialist for the Samaritan’s Purse International Health Unit. Dr. Linda Mobula is currently serving in our Emergency Field Hospital in New York.

Samaritan’s Purse opened an Emergency Field Hospital in Cremona, Italy, on March 21 and in New York City’s Central Park on April 1, to help battle the deadly coronavirus pandemic. Drs. Plyler and Mobula will discuss how our ministry has had to work more in unison than ever to respond in New York, the epidemiology specific to New York, how we have cared for the patients in Jesus’ Name, and a few impact stories from the field. Ben will present on the epidemiology of the virus worldwide, the progress of the outbreak, factors that influence the spread, and outbreak response and strategies for mitigation.
