Dr. Greg Adams presents: “Overview of Immunizations with a Focus on New and Developing Vaccines.”
Dr. Greg Adams
A general pediatrician, Dr. Greg Adams lives in Boone, North Carolina, with his wife of 40 years, Carol. Dr. Adams has practiced in Boone since 1986 and founded Blue Ridge Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine in 1992. He is a native of North Carolina but grew up in southwest Ohio, where his father worked for the U.S. Air Force. He received a BS degree in microbiology and his medical degree from The Ohio State University, before doing his pediatric residency in Dallas, Texas, at Children’s Medical Center. After considering a research position in infectious diseases at Southwestern Medical School, he chose to begin practicing with a group in Michigan that would allow him to participate in short-term foreign mission work.
Greg and Carol moved to Boone in 1986 for several reasons, including a desire to practice near World Medical Mission. They have taken several mission trips, and on a few of those trips have had the opportunity to include their children, all of whom are now grown and with families of their own. Greg has routinely taught medical students at both Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina. In addition, he has participated in over 20 vaccine research studies. He is a co-president of CCPN, a clinically-integrated network based in Cary, North Carolina.
