Laurie Sauerwein, MS, MScPH, RD, presents “Tackling Malnutrition in Medical Missions: Practical Tips to Improve Outcomes.”
Laurie Sauerwein has been a Registered Dietitian for almost 40 years, working with people from multiple cultures as an outpatient clinical dietitian and public health nutritionist. She completed a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Master of Nutrition from Central Washington University. Laurie and her husband, Mark, a family practitioner, have had the privilege of serving a number of times with World Medical Mission, including a total of 15 months in Africa. Both serve on the international DART. Laurie has also taught and consulted in Haiti, Honduras, and Nepal.
